Patricia Christie is not only a breast cancer survivor but co-director of the run. Patricia finds great inspiration in the Wall of Hope, a banner signed by participants and each year she runs she thinks of Debra, a woman she met while in chemo who later lost her battle with breast cancer. "This one's for you", she writes on the banner and says to herself each year she runs, thinking now not only of Debra but her mother who was diagnosed with breast cancer as well.

She has been hospitalized three times in the past year, every time with a serious illness, yet the CCAC will only give her half-an-hour of a care a day. The senior, who lives alone, and was forced to rely on friends and family to help her out.
